Very nice hotel in a great location.

The Lancaster Hotel was walking distance to many key attractions in Amsterdam. The area was quiet and very close to the zoo. Since it was also close to the university, the location had a number of very reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance. We had great pizza, tasty Japanese food and awesome Chinese food, all within a short walk of the hotel. Hop-on-hop-off bus and boat were within a 10 minute walk.

Insanely hot and dirty in need of some TLC. Not a 4-star experience/hotel.

Extremely small room - 1ft between bed end and wall and remember to duck under the TV. Toilet so close you have to sit at an angle. Shower so small and with curtains not panels that they will touch you. Clumps of hair in the bathroom. not a few hairs... clumps. Plug sockets not working on one side of the bed. Very noisy even with windows closed. No air conditioning and very very hot - fan provided was filthy and full of dust. Room/bathroom regularly smelled of stagnant water when we first entered and returned to the room. Bed was comfy though. Overall terrible value for money and should only book at circa 60-80 euro per night tops.

Nice hotel and rooms

Very nice rooms, good breakfast and nice friendly staff. Location is a bit far from any hop-on-hop-off bus stops and the downtown Amsterdam core. The beds were very comfortable and we excellent sleeps!!!
