The Lancaster Amsterdam

Boutique hotel in a monumental building

The Lancaster is situated in a stunning monumental building dating back to the 19th century. In 2018, the hotel was expanded by 30 brand new rooms and our new ARTIS-inspired lounge, and a local gem from day one onwards. De Plantage is a pleasant, quiet and green neighbourhood, yet only a short walk away from the famous canals and and historical centre of the city. Are you looking for a cosy and cheerful room, a family room or a beautiful, spacious room for a romantic weekend? We’ve got exactly what you need!

Wouldnt recomend to nobody. Warm rooms with poorly ac. The room was overall verry small and dirty. Blinds had big stains on them. Water was in the room when checked in. Nothing more.

Fantastic location and area

Excellent location. Easy walking to centre.. but tram stop outside. Excellent value for money. Great surrounding area. What a find !

Not a luxury hotel 😔

We paid for this hotel through luxury escapes as a ‘luxury’ hotel. Well that it is NOT! There is no lift to the first floor check on so we had to drag 4 heavy suitcases up stairs. The room was small with the shower and toilet located in what was like a tiny cupboard. There was no aircon, the curtains had stains on them and the carpets needed cleaning. To top it off one of the days the fire alarm went off and we quickly grabbed or essentials and made our way down the 4 flights of narrow stairs only to be told not to worry they are just testing. There was no pre-warning to guests and for the next 30mins we had to put up with the alarm going off. The breakfast that was included was not with the inclusion with very limited items. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this part of our Europe journey and wouldn’t recommend staying here for the 1791 euros we paid for 2 nights.
