The Lancaster Amsterdam

Beautiful hotel in a monumental building

The Lancaster is situated in a stunning monumental building dating back to the 19th century. In April 2018, the hotel was expanded by 30 brand new rooms and The Birdhouse, our new Artis-inspired bar-restaurant, and a local gem from day one onwards. De Plantage is a pleasant, quiet and green neighbourhood, yet only a short walk away from the famous canals and and historical centre of the city. Are you looking for a cosy and cheerful room, a family room or a beautiful, spacious room for a romantic weekend? We’ve got exactly what you need!

Great hotel just outside the city centre

Great hotel just a 20minute walk from the main train station. Opposite the zoo and by the botanical gardens. Super friendly staff, good price, rooms lovely and clean. Appreciated the cruelty free toiletries. Would visit again next time I was in Amsterdam.

Excellent hotel

Definitely worth the money. Beautiful hotel and lovely hotel room. Self check in and out when you get there which is super easy and quick. The only thing I struggled with was that it was cold in the hotel room even with the heat on.

Much-improved 3-Star near City Center

I stayed at this property about three years ago when it was part of the Hampshire Hotel chain. Now that Eden Hotels operates it, they've given it a significant face lift. The hotel was okay before, but now it has a hip vibe with high tech touches in the lobby (e.g., a serve-yourself-and-pay snack center and amazingly fast check-out kiosks) and a beautiful new breakfast area! Last time, breakfast was in a windowless white room. Now, it's in a setting full of atmosphere with candles, windows, and a friendly staff. The rooms are typically European . . . big enough, but much smaller than American standards. My only real complaint about this hotel are the thin walls. I heard my neighbors frequently. But overall, the ease of tram access from this hotel, its super-friendly staff, and the price make it a place I'd gladly revisit on a future trip to Amsterdam.
