Ok experience
We had an ok stay at this hotel. I wouldn’t say this is a 4 star hotel ( for US standards at least). First of all, when booking you need to make sure you get the “superior room” if you want to have AC in the room. Otherwise, you get a tiny tiny room with a portable fan. We were there in the middle of June and although it’s breeze out at night, it’s scorching hot in the room!!! Windows don’t open all the way. We had to ask the next morning to change us to a room with AC, which they did accommodate and we had to pay an upgrade fee (which was worth it as the room was bigger plus the AC) I was ready to move to a new hotel if this wouldn’t have happened. They don’t do room service unless it’s requested. They don’t really do a throughout job with that as when we entered the room, there was still trash/used napkins, etc on the floor that is clearly garbage and was never picked up. Just little things like that disqualifies a place to be 4 star. It’s on the details. The staff were all very friendly, except the guy that worked at night when we checked in. Location is great because it’s far enough from the commotion of the center but it’s a walkable 20 min. ADVICE: JUST MAKE SURE YOU PICK A ROOM WITH AC IF YOU ARE USED TO HAVING AC AT HOME.
Great hotel in great location
We stayed here for 3 nights. The location was great, on the edge of Amsterdam with a nice 20 minute walk to most of the things we wanted to visit. There is also a tram to the centre too. Lots of nice little cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. The zoo is opposite and the neighbourhood is leafy and quiet. The hotel was perfect for what we like in a stay, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to still enjoy it. The hotel itself was clean, the room was quiet. We had a superior room in the basement which was lovely. Would recommend if visiting Amsterdam and want to stay slightly away from the centre.
