Weekend break

This is a mixed bag and I will try to be fair. We arrived it was fine but got hit for £47 city tax for two days. The room we was offered was tiny ( in the cellar small window) So tiny that one of you would have to climb over the other to get out of bed. My husband is a big man so we asked for another which was better but the bathroom is literally a cupboard you could shower from the toilet and it got very hot in there. The door to our toilet didn’t close which again was a challenge I could touch the toilet door from bed. This isn’t 4 star in my opinion. Also as it’s near to the zoo you will hear animal noises from your room it’s a little Jurassic Park from 5am onwards. On a positive it’s near the tram. There’s lots of little restaurants nearby and the two ladies we met ( I didn’t get your names) were very helpful. The man not so much he looked sick of answering questions In all I wouldn’t come back here I’d go elsewhere it’s very basic no bar nothing but bare minimum and people coming in at night are noisy you will hear them

Long weekend germ

It’s a lovely hotel, very clean and the staff were accommodating. We booked 3 rooms as it was a friends trip but l also brought l my 9 year old. The girls who had twin rooms, the rooms were really small. Our room was bigger than everyone else’s. The only downside of this hotel is that you can hear people talk in the corridors if they are near your door. It wasn’t a huge deal for me as we were so tired at the end of the day. They have a lovely dinning room and bar area

I recently stayed at The Lancaster, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. This place is a disgrace to the hospitality industry and should be avoided at all costs. Here’s a detailed account of the myriad problems I encountered during my stay: Filthy Rooms: The room was disgustingly dirty. There were stains on the carpet, mold in the bathroom, and the bed linens smelled musty. It was clear that the room had not been properly cleaned in ages. Unfriendly Staff: The hotel staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I raised concerns about the state of my room, they brushed me off and offered no solutions. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. Noisy Environment: The walls are paper-thin, and I could hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms and the hallway. It was impossible to get a good night's sleep with constant noise disturbances. Poor Facilities: The amenities advertised on the website are a complete lie. The gym equipment was broken, the pool was dirty and closed for maintenance, and the so-called "spa" was nothing more than a dingy room with a broken sauna. Horrible Food: The breakfast buffet was a joke. Stale pastries, cold eggs, and watered-down juice were the highlights. I wouldn’t feed this to my worst enemy. Misleading Photos: The photos on their website are pure fiction. The actual hotel looks nothing like the bright, clean, and modern images they use to lure in guests. It’s a classic bait and switch. Unsafe Location: The hotel is situated in a sketchy part of town. I didn’t feel safe walking around the area, especially at night. There were frequent police sirens, and the overall vibe was unsettling. Unreliable Wi-Fi: The internet connection was terrible. It was slow, constantly disconnected, and made it impossible to get any work done or even browse the web. Hidden Fees: Be prepared for unexpected charges. The hotel tacked on numerous hidden fees that were not disclosed at the time of booking. It felt like a blatant money grab. Inadequate Maintenance: The entire property is in desperate need of repair. The elevators were slow and unreliable, the air conditioning barely worked, and there were numerous safety hazards throughout the building. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this dump. There are plenty of other hotels in Amsterdam that offer a much better experience for the same price or less. This place is a total scam and should be avoided at all costs.

Great Hotel

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Location is perfect and easily accessible by the tram - makes getting into the downtown area very easy and quick! We walked or took the tram to all of the scenic spots in Amsterdam. The hotel is clean. Our room was a bit small (top floor so the ceilings were slanted), but had everything we needed. Water and Nespresso machine in the room - which was very nice. There was a restaurant and a bar on the lower level which looked lovely, clean and nicely decorated, but we never had the opportunity to eat there. Overall, great location and staff made this a good pick for us. Certainly will recommend!
